A Warm Welcome Space has launched at the Dumfries Baptist Church, Gillbrae Road, on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
Promoted as “free and safe,” the church community are encouraging anyone who is on their own and looking for some company, and a warm place to curb some of the cost of living crisis heating bills, to go along.
On offer will be hot drinks and a soup lunch, as well as a “relaxing time” in the warmth.

The Warm Welcome Space venture will run until April 1 every Saturday.
The Standard went along on Saturday to see some of the volunteers behind it in action as they welcome in member of the community with open arms, a singalong and home-made soup.
