A Castle Douglas-based graduate trainee has qualified as a surveyor.

Katie Marr is one of six trainees with property consultants Galbraith who has passed the final stage of the Assessment of Professional Competence, awarded by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The qualification marks the culmination of a period of extensive training and education provided by Galbraith, and a huge amount of hard work by the candidates.

Katie said: “It’s a huge relief to have reached this milestone and we are all delighted to have qualified as surveyors at the first time of asking.

“The support that we have had from Galbraith to develop our careers has been excellent and the knowledge and expertise within the firm is phenomenal.

“All the graduates have worked extremely hard over the last two years to achieve this qualification. I look forward to working with rural businesses throughout Dumfries & Galloway.”

A partner with Galbraith, Claire Acheson, said: “We are delighted to see our new staff developing their skills and experience in rural property and business consultancy.

“We currently have a further 18 graduates in the firm who are at various stages of their training, and we hope to continue to replicate this success as they prepare to sit their assessments over the next two years.”
