Kirkcudbright Burns Club presented the town’s primary school with a trophy for its annual recital competition.
President Alistair Crawford handed over the silverware to teacher Robert McClune during a visit to the school.
The trophy will be awarded to the P7 pupil adjudged to have given the best rendition of a Burns poem or song on February 10.
Mr Crawford said: “We are delighted to be supporting the next generation of Burnsians.
“Kirkcudbright Burns Club has been associated with the poetry competitions at the school for a number of years and are keen to continue this.”
Judges at the competition will be members of Kirkcudbright Burns Club, which held its first Burns Supper in three years at Arden House Hotel in the town last Wednesday.
