The Rotary District 1020 south west final of the Young Musician Competition was held in the Performing Arts Building at Annan Academy on Thursday, February 16.
The competition, the first ran since the pandemic, was organised by the area’s young musician convener, Joyce Wylie, together with Annan Academy’s head of music Jamie Brand.
Ten extremely talented young musicians and singers took part, representing the Rotary Clubs of Annan, Dalbeattie, Dumfries, Kirkcudbright, Lockerbie, and Langholm.
Adjudicator Mrs Mel Henry, said it was a very difficult decision to pick winners from such an array of talent, noting the variety in both categories and the high standard of all the performers.
Presenting trophies to the winners was assistant district governor Tom Marchbank from the Rotary Club of Dumfries.
