Free training is on offer to charities and community groups across Dumfries and Galloway.

Third Sector Dufmries and Galloway (TSDG) has arranged nearly 50 online events, which will start next month.

Place are limited so staff, trustees and volunteers are urged to book as soon as possible for topics of interest.

Returning this year are opportunities to meet both national and local funders, including The National Lottery Community Fund, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The Robertson Trust, The Holywood Trust, Scottish Land Fund, Foundation Scotland, and Firstport.

Organisations can also tap into TSDG’s experience with a session on how to write a successful funding application.

TSDG’s head of operations, Claire Brown, said: “Our training programme has been designed in response to feedback from organisations across the region to help support everyday working and future development.

“The third sector plays a critical role in Dumfries and Galloway, so we are delighted that, once again, the training is free and open to anyone connected to a community and voluntary group, charity, or social enterprise. We look forward to seeing everyone at the sessions.”

The training falls under the categories of business development, governance, funding, and volunteering.

Business development will look at areas including evaluation, business planning, sustainability, equality and diversity, risk management and online tools.

Governance covers topics including financial management, officer bearers and trustees, effective meetings and organisational governance.

Volunteering will take organisations on the route from recruiting and welcoming through to managing volunteers and trustees.
