A fundraising cyclathon challenge was held over 12 hours in Dumfries on Saturday.
Organised by the Dumfries Devorgilla Rotary Club, members were joined by volunteers from Dumfries Rotary Club and the 710 Cycling Club to take turns on a static bike in the Tesco Extra supermarket at Cuckoo Bridge from 7am to 7pm.
They are now counting up to see how much they have raised for Prostate Buddies Dumfries and Galloway after pedalling more than 270 miles – the equivalent of the 137 miles distance from Tesco Dumfries to Tesco Stranraer and back.
Based in Dumfries, the Prostate Buddies group is run entirely by volunteers who want to help other men come to terms with their diagnosis and to support them through what happens next in terms of treatment and further support for them and their families.
