A Castle Douglas brewery has got its hands on a new trophy – at last.
Sulwath Brewery won a national gold award at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Beer Awards in Liverpool last month.
However, it’s only in the last few days that the award itself has arrived.
Boss Allen Henderson said: “The organisers said because they couldn’t find us at the awards, we couldn’t get our trophy.
“They asked if we would like our trophy and I said ‘Yes’! They said if we sent them the money for postage they’d send it, but it’s worth it.”
Sulwath won the cask session dark beer section at the awards with their Black Galloway beer – which won the same category last year.
Allen added: “It’s probably won more awards than any of our beers. We bring out different beers at different times for different reasons. But any beer you bring out, it has to be the same as you made it last time as consistency is key.”
