Scheme Summary
STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS ON THE A77 IN GIRVAN COMMENCE TUESDAY 11TH APRIL
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking street lighting improvements on the A77 at Henrietta Street, Kirkpatrick Street, and Knockcushan Street in Girvan. The work to renew the lighting columns and underground cabling will take place from Tuesday 11th April until Friday 5th May 2023, between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm, each day (Monday to Friday only).
This scheme, with a value of £110,000, will benefit around 4,500 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the performance and reliability of the street lighting at this location and reducing the need for unplanned maintenance visits.
The work will be carried out utilising temporary daytime traffic signals installed at these locations. Single lane closures will be implemented, as well as the use of unrestricted parking laybys.
We thank road users and the residents and business owners within Girvan for their co-operation and patience while these upgrades are underway.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
